What is pain

Pain is one way the body tells your brain that there is a problem, something is not as it should be so pay attention.

What happens when you have pain is that receptors in your body have been activated by certain types of stimulation. That receptor sends a message to your brain that your brain interrupt as pain. The reason that the feeling of pain is uncomfortable is that your body wants your brain to do something about it so it makes the feeling uncomfortable to get your brains attention.
